Over mij

My name is Paul, I grew up in Zandvoort, probably the ugliest beach town in the world.

I went to secondary school in Haarlem, where I also lived since I reached the age of 18.

I studied Economics at the University of Amsterdam, where I graduated in 1996.

During all my life I had to cope with periods of (severe) depression and sometimes anxiety attacks.

I have done odd jobs, sometimes paid, sometimes voluntary, but somehow I seem not to fit in anywhere.

I went abroad for the first time in 1988, a trip of 10 months in Asia which continent I visited for a second time in 1992.

From 2008 onwards I started travelling on a a regular basis during the winter months, among other reasons to avoid loneliness during this period.

Over mijn reis

This trip is the 11th; my goal is to visit several countries on the African continent, a region which is almost "new" to me, and until now a bit of a challenge.
